Biosketch:
Dr Michelle Daniels is a Specialist Psychiatrist at Ekuhlengeni Psychiatric Hospital, where she has been based since November 2023. She qualified as a specialist and attained her MMed in Psychiatry at University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2023.
In addition to her clinical role, she serves as the Assistant Coordinator for the 6th year undergraduate programme and is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Discipline of Psychiatry. She has also contributed as a guest speaker at several NGO-led events.
Dr Daniels is part of a vibrant and dedicated multidisciplinary team caring for approximately 500 patients. Ekuhlengeni Psychiatric Hospital offers a unique setting that embodies a biopsychosocial and spiritual approach to mental health care. It specialises in long-term psychiatric care and psychosocial rehabilitation and is the only facility of its kind in KwaZulu-Natal.
She is particularly interested in research and hopes to build on ongoing quality improvement projects by developing them into formal research initiatives.
