BIOSKETCH
Dr Ngcobo is a specialist Psychiatrist and lecturer at UKZN. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and then later attained her Fellowship in Psychiatry in 2019 (CMSA). She attained hermaster’s degree (MMed Psychiatry) from UKZN in 2020. She has a very keen interest in research and is currently involved in numerous research projects regarding dementia. She isan academic clinician with a career goal to facilitate the transfer of evidence-based research to locally appropriate and person-centred dementia service development and policy. She is also involved in mental health and dementia advocacy and outreach and works with acommunity-based dementia NPOs.Area(s) of focus: Brain health, mental health, dementia
